President George W. Bush and British Prime Minister Tony Blair should apologize for the “immoral” war against Iraq, according to retired Anglican Archbishop Desmond Tutu. Tutu, a Nobel Peace Prize winner, made his remark in giving the annual Longford lecture in London on February 16. Tutu said it would be “wonderful” if politicians could bring themselves to admit that they are only fallible human creatures and not God and thus by definition can make mistakes. “Unfortunately they seem to think that such an admission is a sign of weakness. Weak and insecure people hardly ever say, ‘Sorry.’ It is large-hearted and courageous people who are not diminished by saying, ‘I made a mistake.’”

Asbury Theological Seminary has named Jeffrey Greenway, a United Methodist minister in Pittsburgh and an Asbury trustee, as its new president. Greenway will assume the post on July 1. He succeeds Maxie Dunnam, who will become chancellor after ten years as president. The multidenominational school in Wilmore, Kentucky, has an enrollment of some 1,500 students.
