Mitsuo Fuchida and the cycle of love
Today is the 69th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor,
which drew the U.S. into World War II. The Japanese attack was led by Mitsuo
Fuchida, who later became a Christian and had this to say:
I have participated in the cycle of
hate for much of my life. For the rest of my life I want to begin the cycle of
love as often and in as many places as possible.
Rose Berger tells a
moving story about an American teenager who visited Japanese POWs, a story
that made a great impact on Fuchida.
