David H. Jensen: God, Desire, and a Theology of Human Sexuality
How do we read the Bible, when it comes to human sexuality? Do we read it as a rulebook, outlining the things that we should and should not do? How else can we read the text?
How can we understand the mystical traditions of desiring Christ? How do we nurture a healthy sexuality in a culture that easily mixes sex and violence or reduces it to consumerism?
What about the texts of terror in the Bible, when women were treated violently? How should we handle those? Should we ignore them?
On God Complex Radio, I talked with David Jensen, Professor of Reformed Theology at Austin Seminary, about these questions as we discussed his new book, God, Desire, and a Theology of Human Sexuality.
