Robertson's son takes over CBN: Gordon Robinson
Pat Robertson, 77, says that his son Gordon, 49, has succeeded him as chief executive of the Christian Broadcasting Network. The senior Robertson announced the transition this month on The 700 Club, the network’s flagship program.
Gordon Robinson is one of several sons of an earlier generation of evangelicals and Pentecostals who were groomed as executive or preaching replacements for their fathers.
Billy Graham yielded the top executive spot to son Franklin Graham at the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association several years ago. After Jerry Falwell died in May, sons Jerry Jr. and Jonathan took leadership of the Virginia megachurch and Liberty University respectively.
