Beverly Lapp will be vice president, academic dean of Anabaptist Mennonite Biblical Seminary
The school's board of directors praised her “exceptional background in pedagogy.”
Beverly Lapp began serving as vice president and academic dean of Anabaptist Mennonite Biblical Seminary in Elkhart, Indiana, on July 1.
The school’s board of directors praised her administrative gifts and “exceptional background in pedagogy.”
Lapp has a doctorate in education from Columbia University Teachers College and a degree in piano performance and pedagogy from Westminster Choir College of Rider University. She has been professor of music and chair of the music department at Goshen College. She is also an active church musician.
“Colleagues with whom Dr. Lapp has collaborated at Goshen College and other institutions of higher learning were unequivocally enthusiastic about her collaborative leadership style, proven administrative skills, interdisciplinary curricular work, intercultural competence, command of data to inform decisions, and passion for transformative educational processes,” said Sara Wenger Shenk, AMBS president and chair of the search committee, in a statement.
