Gail Godwin

Gail Godwin has been nominated three times for the National Book Award. She is the author of A Mother and Two Daughters, Father Melancholy's Daughter, and The Good Husband. This selection is excerpted from her novel Evensong, to be published in March by Ballantine Books. The novel features Margaret Gower from Father Melancholy's Daughter. A rector of an Episcopal church, she is married to Adrian, who is chaplain at a boarding school. Published by arrangement with the Ballantine Publishing Group, New York.
